At Journey, we believe that Baptism is an important step for everyone who believes and follows Jesus. It is a symbol that publicly announces your faith in Christ, much like a wedding ring announces your marriage to another person. Baptism doesn’t make you a Christian, but it identifies you as one. If you choose to believe in Christ for your forgiveness and salvation, then you are ready to be baptized.
Common Questions About Baptism
(“why should I be baptized?” “what is the meaning of baptism?” “what about infant baptism” and more).
Listen to a message about baptism called “Taking the Plunge”
Baptism is a fun and meaningful experience for the entire crowd at Journey. We have baptism celebrations about 4 times a year at local pools and in Lake Norman.
How do I sign up to be baptized?
1. Answer the 3 questions on this online form.
2. Record your voice
- We will call you to schedule a time for you to come in and record some of the information you typed in the forms above. We will play this recording just before you are baptized. This will make your baptism more personal and will allow people to hear your story in your own words. It is an amazing experience to listen to the stories of the people being baptized.
3. Get baptized
Just show up with a towel, shorts/t-shirt, and a change of clothes at the scheduled baptism.
If you have more questions about baptism, please feel free to email Brian Early at brian@thejourneyonline.com
